When you’re satisfied with your analysis of the recording, you can run a test and get a report with information about it.
Running the test
Click the Run button located in the toolbar on top of Ranorex. After you click play, a console window displays, the application under testing opens, and a window that controls the test loads on the bottom right of your screen.
-
Window 1 – Console
This window displays all the steps that are currently being run by the test and will close when the test ends. -
Window 2 – Application under testing
This window is the application that’s being tested, it will display the actions of the test in real-time. -
Window 3 – Test status
This window displays the status of the test run, time elapsed, progress, and what step is currently being done.
Test report
When the test is complete, the windows close, and a new tab with the report is displayed.
The report contains information such as system ID, execution time, number of errors and warnings, and how many tests passed, failed, or were blocked.
In the test data on the bottom, you can see detailed information about individual steps such as if they passed or not, and how much time each step took.
Every step can be further broken down into its parts. You can observe where each action is done, and what information is validated.
If you want to check an individual step, hover your mouse cursor over it, and the Jump to Item button displays, click it to redirect you to the corresponding step in the recording.
